mom
For you MOM on Mother’s Day
How I miss you
Your childlike smile
Chestnut hair down your waist
Paint on your jeans
Dark coffee, cigarette burning in the overflowing ashtray
Two in the morning, canvases sprawling up against the wall
Clay on the floor
Monstrous Henry Moore like pot ready to fire
Dawn has arrived
Your tiny frame crashed in the chair
I miss your mystical spirit
Walking on Kits beach collecting rocks
Art school, Art galleries, your showings
So exquisite
Michelangelo was ethereal – I touched his magnificence in Rome for you Mom
The piano player drifted away under the crowd on 4th Ave
Your silken beauty sheathed in white leather for your one woman show
Illness took your soul
Crippled, consumed and broken
Those wide blue eyes darkened
I miss your life spirit
I love you mom
Peace be with you in Picasso’s dream ™
